Meet MA member Fabricia Coelho Ferreira –
I have been guiding meditation since 2008 focusing on mindfulness and stress-relief techniques. As the founder of Flow Wellness Centre, I am passionate about guiding individuals towards emotional balance and mental clarity through meditation. I offer meditation courses in both individual and group settings, mainly on the Gold Coast and online for global access.
I teach meditation to people from all walks of life – those seeking stress relief, emotional well-being, and personal growth. My students include individuals from the corporate world, wellness enthusiasts, and anyone interested in improving their mental and emotional health.
As a meditation teacher, I’ve learned that two key aspects make me a better teacher: first, the importance of meeting students where they are in their personal journey. Every person is different, and customizing the approach based on individual needs fosters better results. Second, cultivating a non-judgmental, open-minded environment in the classroom allows my students to feel comfortable exploring their practice without fear of failure.
I’m thrilled to continue sharing the power of meditation and mindfulness with others and help them unlock the benefits of a calmer, more focused life.
What’s the story behind your first meditation experience?
My first meditation experience was in 2003, right after a yoga class. At the time, I had no idea what meditation was all about. The instructor led us through a guided meditation, and as I sat there, something shifted within me. I felt a deep sense of peace I hadn’t experienced before. After that, I didn’t stop – meditation became a part of my life and has been ever since.
What or who inspires you?
What inspires me most is the work of Eckhart Tolle, especially his book The Power of Now. His teachings resonate deeply with me – he emphasizes that in the present moment, there are no problems. You are already complete and fulfilled. This idea has had a profound impact on my life, and it’s something I want to share with my students. I believe that by slowing down and embracing the present moment, we can find peace and joy in the simplicity of now. It’s something I encourage everyone to experience for themselves.
Cushion time: How long did you meditate for today?
Today, I meditated for 20 minutes in my cozy meditation space. I believe that the energy in a dedicated space has a special power, which is why I always return to the same spot each morning. This consistency helps create a peaceful environment that enhances my practice.
Meditation Apps, yes or no?
Yes
You’re the voice: Do you sing in the shower?
I do.
The getting of wisdom: What’s the best, or most important thing, you’ve learned as a meditation teacher?
The most important thing I’ve learned is that each person has their own pace, and it’s not about being perfect. It’s about creating a space where people feel safe and supported to explore their own inner wisdom.
What makes your heart sing and what have you come to value most?
What makes my heart sing is helping others and nurturing myself by doing the things I love, like meditation, hiking, cooking, dancing, and being in nature. What I value most is authenticity and growth – both in myself and in others. Helping people find balance, clarity, and self-compassion brings me so much joy, and knowing I can be part of their journey towards wellbeing is what truly fulfills me.
The best thing today: What’s the most inspiring or loveliest thing you’ve seen or experienced today?
Today, the most inspiring moment for me was taking a quiet moment to reconnect with myself. As I sat in stillness, I felt a deep sense of peace wash over me—like the world paused for just a moment. When I’m in that space, I receive insights that guide me toward a more fulfilling life 🙂
